Rebecca Newell
Rebecca Newell is Head of Art at IWM, responsible for the preeminent art collection. She is working on various programme and redisplay projects, and is part of the research-active staff community at IWM engaging with academics in order to deepen understanding of war and its impact. As part of the IWM Institute, her current research themes include sexual violence and displacement in conflict, LGBTQ marginalisation and ‘military masculinities’. She has a background in art history and museology, and prior to joining IWM, was at the National Army Museum, researching contemporary art and conflict, and female and other marginalised service experiences.
