Lizzie Hobbs is a PhD Candidate with the LSE Centre for Women, Peace and Security. Her research focuses on the gendered dimensions of displacement particularly in terms of perceptions of masculinities and the interactions between humanitarian policies, masculine norms and familial gender dynamics. She is focusing on dynamics related to returnees and internally displaced persons. She has spent the last year in Uganda working as a researcher exploring the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) needs of national humanitarian staff working in refugee settlements.
