Dr Necla Acik
Necla Acik is Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Gender, Migration and Development Hub based at the University of Middlesex. On the GCRF Hub, Necla works across three projects: 1) Gender and Forced Displacement; 2) Return, Reintegration and Political Restructuring; 3) Gendered Dynamics of International Labour Migration. Her main responsibilities are mixed-methods research design and analysis of Project 2 which includes surveys, focus groups and semi-structured qualitative interviews. She speaks three major languages of the Middle East (Kurdish, Turkish and Arabic) and has experience researching gender, ethnicity and participation in Turkey and Kurdistan and migration, counter-terrorism, and ethnic inequalities in Europe.
