Professor Mazeda Hossain
Mazeda Hossain is Professor of Global Health and Director of the Eastern Africa Centre at Nottingham Trent University. She was formerly based with the LSE Centre for Women, Peace and Security and is a co-Director of the GCRF Gender, Justice and Security Hub for the Methodological Innovations stream. She is a social epidemiologist focussing on violence and health among conflict-affected populations. Her research interests include developing epidemiological methods and measurements appropriate for conflict-affected populations and evaluating interventions to improve health care responses for violence survivors. On the Hub she is leading a the development of a new global index on societal wellbeing – The Global Wellbeing and Resiliance Index.
