Danushka S. Medawatte is a Senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Public & International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. Her research focuses on the implications of enforced disappearances in Sri Lanka and the various calls for reconciliation as well as retributive justice. Her research also inquiries into the inadequacies of law’s regulatory framework applicable to conflict related sexual violence and assesses its gendered impact on women’s protection in times of armed conflict. She has also written on issues of transitional justice and constitutional guarantees operating within Sri Lanka.
