Abida Kakar
Abida Kakar is the WPP focal person for Afghanistan and a peace and women rights activist. She holds a master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration. Since 2019, she has been leading research projects in Afghanistan. Throughout my educational and professional career, I have been engaged and have nearly 10 years of experience working in Human Resource Management, Capacity Building, Peace-Building, Gender Equality and Women and Youth Rights and Empowerment with national and international organisations including the United Nations and USAID. Also, during my career, I have been a part of various networks supporting peace and security, gender equality and women and youth empowerment in Afghanistan, and I have participated in national and international fellowship programmes promoting UN agenda 1325.
